China and Turkmenistan are strengthening their long-standing partnership, which began in 1992, with a focus on trust, cooperation, and shared goals. During a recent meeting in Beijing, President Xi Jinping and Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted strong political support, especially on issues like sovereignty and the one-China policy. The two countries plan to expand their cooperation beyond natural gas—currently a key part of their relationship—into areas like technology, agriculture, and clean energy. They also agreed to work together on security, fight terrorism, and support global cooperation through the United Nations. In addition, both sides want to improve cultural and educational exchanges, helping build stronger connections between their people for the future.
