Since the US and Israel launched military operations against Iran, over 52,000 flights in and out of the Middle East have been canceled, affecting more than 6 million passenger trips, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium.
Flight cancellations peaked at over 65% between March 1 and 3 and remained high at 46.5% by March 12. Experts say even a ceasefire would not immediately restore normal flight operations, as airlines need time to redeploy aircraft and crews, rebuild schedules, and secure safety clearances.
