China launched a new group of internet satellites on Friday from the Hainan commercial spacecraft launch site in Hainan Province using a Long March-8A rocket.
The rocket, developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, lifted off at 3:48 a.m. carrying the 20th batch of low-Earth orbit satellites, successfully placing them into their planned orbit.
Since its first flight in 2025, the Long March-8A has become a key launcher for China’s satellite constellations. The mission marked the 631st launch in the Long March carrier rocket series.
