Zhang Guoqing said China is willing to work with other countries to ensure nuclear energy supports global development and prosperity. He made the remarks while attending the Nuclear Energy Summit in Paris as special representative of Xi Jinping.
Zhang said China follows a balanced nuclear security strategy proposed by Xi and supports innovation, safety and international cooperation in nuclear energy.
Leaders and representatives from more than 30 countries and international organizations attended the summit and issued a joint statement supporting safe and affordable nuclear energy.
