China’s top political advisory body, the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), closed its annual session in Beijing with a call for members to contribute ideas and support the launch of the 15th Five-Year Plan. Xi Jinping and other leaders attended the meeting at the Great Hall of the People.
CPPCC chairman Wang Huning said political advisors should focus on major economic and social issues, strengthen research and provide policy suggestions to advance Chinese modernization.
He also called for building consensus across different sectors of society and ensuring that development achievements improve public well-being and support long-term social stability.
