Wang Yi on Sunday highlighted the importance of head-of-state diplomacy as the “anchor” of China‘s foreign policy, speaking at a press conference during the fourth session of the National People’s Congress in Beijing.
He noted that over the past year, Xi Jinping’s extensive head-of-state diplomacy created historic moments, fostering dialogue among major countries, strengthening ties with neighbors, supporting the unity of the Global South, and promoting peace and justice.
Wang said Xi’s initiatives demonstrate strategic foresight and a global vision, providing stability amid international turbulence. Looking ahead, Xi will host major events like the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and the second China-Arab States Summit, and conduct several overseas visits.
“Head-of-state diplomacy will further advance China’s global relations, create space for building a shared future for humanity, and enable China to contribute to world peace and development,” Wang said.
