Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday appointed Seyed Majid Ebn Al-Reza as caretaker of the Defense Ministry, following the U.S.-Israeli airstrike that killed former Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The announcement was made on X by presidential communications deputy Seyyed Mehdi Tabatabaei. Ebn Al-Reza previously served as deputy defense minister. Iran has responded to the strikes with multiple missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and U.S. military bases across the region.
