China and South Korea have reached a price undertaking agreement in an anti-dumping investigation involving Chinese hot-rolled steel coils, replacing punitive tariffs with a negotiated pricing arrangement.
A spokesperson for Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China said the outcome was welcomed by industry in both countries and would improve stability and predictability in regional steel trade. The ministry described the resolution as a “soft landing” that reflects mutual respect and strong economic ties, supported by deeply integrated supply chains.
Beyond the steel sector, China said the agreement signals both sides’ commitment to multilateralism and free, fair trade, injecting positive momentum into international economic cooperation amid global uncertainty.
