Mostafa Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Palestinian self-governance in Gaza during remarks in Washington, D.C., delivered on behalf of Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. He said Egypt backs the proposed National Committee for the Administration of Gaza and called for it to be empowered to operate across the Gaza Strip and manage local affairs.
Madbouly stressed the need to clearly define the responsibilities of Gaza’s governing bodies and said Egypt remains committed to training Palestinian police forces to help maintain security. He presented Egypt’s position on governance, reconstruction, and security arrangements tied to the Gaza ceasefire process during the meeting of the Board of Peace.
