Palestinian officials have expressed concerns over U.S. President Donald Trump’s newly launched “Board of Peace,” which some fear could sideline Palestinian interests.
Sabri Saidam, deputy secretary-general of Fatah, said the board’s objectives remain unclear and exclude Palestinians, warning that it could undermine their rights and promote displacement. Palestinian Deputy Foreign Minister Omar Awadallah emphasized that any new council should not replace legitimate Palestinian institutions and stressed the need to support international bodies to promote stability, security, and the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Trump launched the board on January 22 at the World Economic Forum in Davos, but key global powers and U.S. allies have not joined.
