The 25th Winter Olympics officially opened in Milan on Friday. China Media Group (CMG), the exclusive broadcaster for mainland China and Macao, has launched full-scale coverage with live broadcasts, on-site reporting, and international feed production.
CMG established a 1,700‑square‑meter hub at the Milan International Broadcast Center, featuring an integrated newsroom, multiple studios, and a dedicated 8K hall. For the first time at the Winter Olympics, CMG is producing the international feed for figure skating and short track speed skating, while providing 8K coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies.
CMG Vice President Qi Zhuquan highlighted the broadcaster’s technical expertise, which was praised by IOC President Kirsty Coventry as a global benchmark in ultra-high-definition Olympic coverage.
