China’s top legislator Zhao Leji met with Uruguayan President Yamandu Orsi in Beijing, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation. Zhao said China views Uruguay as a reliable partner and expressed willingness to expand cooperation under the guidance of both countries’ leaders, including enhancing exchanges between China’s National People’s Congress and Uruguay’s General Assembly to support practical collaboration.
Orsi said relations between Uruguay and China have developed steadily based on mutual respect and expressed hope for deeper cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, environment, and culture. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening legislative exchanges and learning from each other’s governance experience to further advance bilateral relations.
