Four Chinese films have confirmed their release for February 17, the first day of the 2026 Chinese New Year and the busiest movie season of the year. The lineup includes “Silent Thunder,” a national security thriller directed by Zhang Yimou, “Pegasus 3,” a racing comedy starring Shen Teng, “Blades of the Guardians,” an action film featuring stars such as Wu Jing and Jet Li, and “Boonie Bears: The Hidden Protector,” the latest entry in the popular animated franchise. More films are expected to be announced as competition builds for the Spring Festival box office.
