Trump claims China only exports wind turbines, but what about its massive wind farms?

U.S. President Donald Trump said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that China makes most of the world’s wind turbines but does not use wind power at home. His claim was quickly challenged by international media and energy data.
Reports from the Guardian, Forbes, AFP and others say China is the world’s largest user of wind energy, with more installed capacity than any other country and more projects under construction than the rest of the world combined. China’s wind power capacity exceeded 600 gigawatts by late 2025, ranking first globally for 15 consecutive years.
