“Boonie Bears: The Hidden Protector” is set to release during the 2026 Chinese New Year film season, joining “Pegasus 3” as one of the two confirmed titles for the holiday lineup. The newly released trailer shows the powerful bear duo building towering mountains with ease and introduces a striking new female character in battle armor, adding fresh excitement to the story.
The film marks a major milestone for the Boonie Bears franchise, which has appeared in the Chinese New Year season for 12 consecutive years, becoming the first Chinese animated series to span a full Chinese zodiac cycle. In 2025, the franchise also expanded its international reach, screening in major UK cities such as London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Glasgow, highlighting the growing global influence of Chinese animated films.
