The fifth plenary session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China has outlined key priorities for advancing full and rigorous Party self-governance and intensifying anti-corruption efforts during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030).
The communique stressed the need to eliminate conditions that breed corruption through stronger enforcement, improved discipline and long-term institutional mechanisms. It reaffirmed a zero-tolerance approach, targeting both bribe-takers and bribe-givers, new and hidden forms of corruption, and collusion between officials and business interests, particularly in key sectors.
The session also called for stronger political oversight to ensure effective implementation of major national strategies, while emphasizing stricter discipline, enhanced inspections and firm action against political inconsistency. It urged confining power within institutional rules and strengthening law-based governance.
In addition, the CCDI highlighted continued efforts to tackle corruption and misconduct affecting people’s livelihoods, especially at the grassroots level, and called for regularized supervision mechanisms and greater public participation to ensure lasting results.
