CPC calls for reinforced anti-corruption efforts during 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030)

China’s top disciplinary body has called for stronger anti-corruption efforts during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030), according to a communique issued after the fifth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) held in Beijing.

The session, attended by President Xi Jinping, reviewed discipline inspection work in 2025 and outlined priorities for 2026, stressing the need to deepen political oversight, enforce discipline and combat corruption. Authorities reported intensified investigations in key sectors including finance, state-owned enterprises, energy, pharmaceuticals, higher education and sports, as well as grassroots corruption.

The CCDI emphasized that China must adopt tougher and more effective measures to eliminate conditions that breed corruption, strengthen long-term governance mechanisms, and strictly punish collusion between officials and business interests, while advancing law-based and standardized supervision.
