French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot reaffirmed France’s support for Greenland, stating it “is not for sale” and its future should be determined by Greenlandic and Danish authorities. He condemned the idea of a NATO country attacking another and said U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio ruled out a Venezuelan-style operation in Greenland. The comments come after reports that U.S. President Donald Trump is considering options, including military action, to acquire Greenland. Barrot said France will respond to U.S. threats in coordination with European partners, including Germany and Poland.
