The “mini three links” between Fujian on the Chinese mainland and Taiwan-administered Kinmen and Matsu marked their 25th anniversary with record-high passenger numbers, reflecting closer cross-Strait ties. In 2025, the routes handled more than 1.43 million trips by Taiwan residents, the highest annual total since the services began in 2001. Travel is expected to remain strong during the 2026 New Year holiday, underscoring the links’ role in promoting family connections, cultural exchange, and business cooperation across the Taiwan Strait.
