Philippines raises Mayon Volcano alert level amid signs of increased volcanic activity

Philippine authorities have raised Mayon Volcano’s alert level from 1 to 2 after signs of increased volcanic activity, indicating magma movement beneath the volcano and a higher risk of sudden eruptions. The public has been warned to stay out of the six-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone. Mayon, located in Albay province, is the most active volcano in the Philippines
