Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv is in talks with U.S. President Donald Trump about the potential deployment of U.S. troops as part of security guarantees for Ukraine. He described it as a “strong position” but noted that any decision rests with the United States. Zelenskyy also announced that national security advisors from the Coalition of the Willing will meet in Ukraine on January 3, 2026, followed by a leaders’ meeting in France on January 6.
