Thailand and Cambodia agreed to a ceasefire effective Saturday noon after border clashes, pledging no troop movements and a 72-hour monitoring period. If the ceasefire holds, Thailand will release 18 detained Cambodian soldiers, civilians may return home, and both sides will resume border demarcation talks. The deal follows renewed fighting since December 7 that caused heavy casualties and mass displacement.
