At the UN, China’s envoy Fu Cong said colonialism’s legacy still affects the world and urged countries to uphold the post–World War II international order. He criticized Japan for its wartime actions, calling on it to reflect on historical crimes, respect commitments on the Taiwan issue, and stop provocative behavior.
Fu emphasized remembering the harm of colonialism, rejecting any denial of wartime history, and preventing the revival of militarism, warning that challenging the postwar order could lead to global instability.
