Hong Kong’s Chief Executive John Lee said the Tai Po residential fire is largely under control. The blaze, which spread through seven of eight buildings at Wang Fuk Court, has killed 44 people, including a firefighter, and left 45 in critical condition.
Three construction workers tied to the building’s renovation were arrested for suspected manslaughter. Rescue operations and medical responses remain active, and Macao’s leader has offered support and condolences.
