Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message to a UN meeting on Tuesday marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, stressing that the Palestinian question remains central to Middle East peace and global justice. Xi urged the international community to build greater consensus and take stronger action to secure a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, improve humanitarian conditions, and prevent renewed conflict.
He emphasized that Gaza’s post-conflict reconstruction should follow the principle of “Palestinians governing Palestine” and reflect the will of the Palestinian people, while considering the concerns of regional states. Xi also called the Palestinian issue a test of global governance, urging countries to address its root causes and uphold fairness and justice.
As a permanent UN Security Council member, Xi said China supports the Palestinian people’s efforts to restore their legitimate national rights and will continue working toward a comprehensive and lasting political solution.
