Senior officials from Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye met Tuesday to discuss strengthening the Gaza ceasefire and resolving issues blocking its implementation, Al Qahera News reported. The meeting focused on advancing the second phase of the truce and improving coordination with Israel’s Civil-Military Coordination Center to prevent violations.
The talks followed Cairo’s meeting with a Hamas delegation, which reaffirmed commitment to the agreement but urged a mediator-supervised mechanism to monitor Israeli breaches.
The ceasefire, in effect since October 10, has reduced but not halted Israeli attacks. Gaza health authorities report 345 Palestinians killed and 889 injured since October 11, bringing the total death toll since October 2023 to 69,775.
