A suicide bombing outside Islamabad’s district court on Tuesday killed at least 12 people and injured dozens more. The Pakistani Taliban (TTP) claimed responsibility, saying it targeted judges and lawyers enforcing “un-Islamic” laws and threatened more attacks.
Pakistani officials accused Afghanistan of harboring militants and warned of retaliation if Kabul failed to act, though Afghanistan denied involvement. The bombing, Islamabad’s first major civilian attack in a decade, further strained relations between the two countries amid recent border clashes.
Authorities said the attacker detonated explosives near the court after failing to enter the building, with several victims in critical condition.
