The world’s first international standard for industrial 5G, led by China, has been released by the International Electrotechnical Commission.
Jointly proposed by China and Germany with input from several countries, the standard defines the architecture, operation, and management of 5G in industrial settings, providing unified guidelines for global users and manufacturers.
China’s 5G industry has grown rapidly, with over 20,000 “5G + industrial internet” projects nationwide. Officials said the new standard marks a major step in integrating 5G with industry and advancing global digital manufacturing.
