Chinese President Xi Jinping urged APEC members to protect the multilateral trading system, emphasizing true multilateralism and strengthening the role of the World Trade Organization, during the opening of the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Gyeongju, South Korea.
Xi proposed a five-point plan to promote inclusive economic globalization and build an Asia-Pacific community. His recommendations included safeguarding the trading system, creating an open regional economic environment, ensuring stable industrial and supply chains, advancing digitalization and green trade, and fostering universally beneficial and inclusive development.
