President Trump canceled his planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying it “didn’t feel right” and he wanted to avoid a “wasted meeting.” The Kremlin said the timing of a summit remains undecided and would require serious preparation. Meanwhile, the U.S. Treasury imposed sanctions on Russia’s top two oil producers, Rosneft and Lukoil, to pressure Moscow into an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, with further action possible and allies urged to comply. These sanctions target nearly half of Russia’s crude exports.
