Despite the U.S.-China trade war and tariffs up to 55%, Chinese exports to the U.S. remain strong, totaling over $100 billion in Q3. Some categories, like e-bikes ($500M) and electronics (~$8B), even grew year-on-year. Bloomberg notes that China’s role in global supply chains makes it hard for other countries to quickly replace it. September exports rose 8.3% YoY, above forecasts. Amid ongoing tensions, the U.S. has threatened additional tariffs, while China maintains it will fight if forced but remains open to negotiations, with new trade talks planned soon.
