Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on its 80th anniversary, praising its role in global food security, rural development, and improving living standards.
Xi said China places great importance on food security, relying on its own efforts to feed more than 1.4 billion people while also helping other countries in need. He reaffirmed China’s continued support for the FAO and expressed willingness to work with the international community to advance the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Global Development Initiative, aiming to build a shared future for humanity.
The FAO, founded on October 16, 1945, includes China as one of its founding members.
