China’s top diplomat Wang Yi met with Celso Amorim, chief advisor to the president of Brazil, on Thursday during events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
Wang emphasized the need for China and Brazil to promote multilateralism and uphold international rules, while consolidating the positive momentum of BRICS and enhancing coordination among member countries. Amorim highlighted challenges to the multilateral trading system and expressed Brazil’s support for China’s Global Governance Initiative, pledging closer cooperation with China on international affairs.
