Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan met with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath in Beijing. Xi welcomed them back to China and invited King Sihamoni to attend upcoming events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

He called for both sides to deepen solidarity, enhance cooperation, and accelerate the building of an “all-weather community with a shared future,” bringing greater benefits to their peoples. Xi reaffirmed China’s support for Cambodia’s independent development path and long-term stability.
King Sihamoni and Queen Mother Monineath expressed their pleasure at visiting China again and thanked Xi for the invitation to the anniversary events.
