The 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum on People-to-People Exchange was held in Beijing, co-hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and the SCO Secretariat, with over 100 political, cultural, and media representatives attending. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sent congratulatory messages, stressing the importance of dialogue, mutual understanding, and cooperation under the “Shanghai Spirit.”
CMG President Shen Haixiong highlighted the SCO’s role as the world’s largest regional organization and underscored the duty of media to promote openness and development. SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev announced new cooperation agreements with CMG, while Russian media leaders called for trust and equality in collaboration.
The event launched several initiatives, including the “China Up Close · A Journey of Harmony” media project with journalists from 42 countries and youth exchange programs aimed at strengthening cultural ties among SCO member states.
