Chinese FM calls for deepening China-Myanmar community with shared future

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Myanmar’s Foreign Minister U Than Swe in Anning, Yunnan, on Thursday, marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
Wang called for deepening the China-Myanmar community with a shared future, reaffirmed support for Myanmar’s sovereignty and development path, and urged stronger protection for Chinese personnel and projects, tougher action against cross-border crimes, and stability along the border.
U Than Swe, in China for the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, reiterated Myanmar’s adherence to the one-China principle, voiced support for China’s global initiatives, and thanked China for its assistance in economic development and post-disaster recovery.
