Xi says China, Brazil can set example of unity, self-reliance in Global South

In a phone call with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Chinese President Xi Jinping said China is ready to work with Brazil to strengthen Global South unity, promote fairness in global governance, and address shared challenges. Xi praised the strong state of bilateral ties, voiced support for Brazil’s sovereignty, and urged cooperation against unilateralism. He also called for joint efforts in BRICS, the UN Climate Change Conference in Belem, and the Ukraine peace process. Lula reaffirmed Brazil’s commitment to deepening cooperation with China, aligning strategies, and defending multilateralism and free trade.
