The annual Cross-Straits Youth Summit opened in Beijing with over 700 participants, including youth from both sides of the Taiwan Straits. Chinese official Song Tao urged young people to oppose “Taiwan independence” and promote national unity through exchanges. Former Kuomintang leader Ma Ying-jeou encouraged youth cooperation for a shared future. The summit includes forums and exhibitions on science, technology, and culture.
