China, Iran foreign ministers hold talks as Wang Yi condemns Israeli strikes

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi about the escalating Middle East conflict. Araghchi condemned Israel’s recent strikes on Iran, including attacks on nuclear facilities, calling them serious violations of international law and warning they risk a wider war. He urged the international community to pressure Israel to stop its military actions. Wang Yi reaffirmed China’s strong opposition to Israel’s aggression, condemning the attacks on Iranian sovereignty and civilian targets. He called on the global community to act swiftly to restore peace and emphasized China’s readiness to work with Iran and others to ease tensions. Both ministers agreed to maintain close communication, with Iran pledging to protect Chinese nationals and institutions amid the conflict.
