At WWDC 2025, Apple unveiled major updates to its software lineup—including iOS 26, macOS 26, and more—highlighted by a striking new design language called “Liquid Glass”, which brings a sleek, unified visual style across all Apple devices. This marks Apple’s biggest design overhaul since iOS 7.
However, the event’s AI announcements disappointed many, especially compared to last year’s ambitious rollout. While Apple introduced practical features like real-time translation across devices and Visual Intelligence for object and text recognition, the anticipated upgrade to Siri’s AI capabilities was delayed until 2026. Apple did expand its partnership with OpenAI, adding ChatGPT image generation to its apps and opening its AI models to third-party developers through a new Foundation Models framework.
Despite these updates, the lack of groundbreaking AI innovation led to investor disappointment, with Apple’s stock falling 1.21% after the event, reflecting concerns about the company’s slower AI progress compared to its competitors.
