A school shooting in Graz, Austria, on Tuesday left at least nine people dead and about 30 wounded, marking the worst school shooting in the country’s modern history. The attacker, reportedly a 22-year-old former student, also died. Armed with a pistol and shotgun, he opened fire in two classrooms, one of which he had previously attended. Austrian media suggested he had been a victim of bullying. Authorities confirmed the school was evacuated and the area secured. Chancellor Christian Stocker called it a national tragedy, while EU officials expressed condolences and emphasized the right to safe education.
