Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 138th international goal to equalize during regular time before being subbed off to applause. Goalkeeper Diogo Costa saved Spain’s fourth penalty, and Ruben Neves secured the win. Nuno Mendes was named player of the match. Earlier, Kylian Mbappé led France to third place with a 2-0 win over Germany, scoring one and assisting another. France coach Deschamps admitted the team had little motivation for the match.
