About 700 U.S. Marines being mobilized in response to LA protests

Around 700 U.S. Marines have been placed on alert to respond to ongoing immigration protests in Los Angeles, joining the 2,000 National Guard troops already deployed by President Trump. This move, seen as a major escalation, has drawn sharp criticism, especially from California Governor Gavin Newsom, who called the deployment “un-American” and accused Trump of acting like a dictator.
