U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that his relationship with billionaire Elon Musk is over and warned of “serious consequences” if Musk financially supports Democratic candidates running against Republicans who back Trump’s major tax and spending proposal, the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” Speaking in a phone interview with NBC News, Trump said he has no intention of speaking with Musk and accused him of being disrespectful to the presidency. The conflict stems from Musk’s criticism of the GOP-led bill, which the House recently passed. Despite the fallout, Trump said he is confident the bill will pass the Senate before July 4. He did not specify what consequences Musk would face if he supports opposition candidates.
