International Children’s Day: President Xi’s time with children

President Xi Jinping has consistently emphasized the importance of children to China’s future, expressing deep care for their growth and well-being. Since 2013, he has sent greetings to children on International Children’s Day and called himself a friend to youth.

Despite his busy schedule, Xi often visits schools, joins children’s activities, and replies to their letters, reflecting his high hopes for their all-round development. He frequently participates in events like tree-planting with children, encouraging values such as hard work, environmental awareness, and thriftiness.

Xi stresses the importance of nurturing children’s moral values, intellect, physical health, aesthetics, and practical skills. He encourages young people to aim high, love learning and work, be kind and grateful, and have the courage to innovate and pursue their dreams.
