Tottenham Hotspur ended a 17-year trophy drought by defeating Manchester United 1-0 in a scrappy UEFA Europa League final on Wednesday. Brennan Johnson scored the only goal in the 42nd minute, bundling in a cross from Pape Sarr.
Despite both teams struggling in the Premier League — United in 16th and Spurs in 17th — Tottenham triumphed on the European stage. The win was especially emotional for captain Son Heung-min, who celebrated his first title with the club after 10 years, calling it a “dream-come-true” moment and expressing immense pride in his team.
