Xi congratulates Tinubu on election as Nigerian president

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday sent a congratulatory message to Bola Tinubu on his election as Nigerian president.

Xi pointed out in his message, Nigeria is China’s important strategic partner in Africa.

Xi said, the relationship between the two countries has maintained a good momentum of development over the years, adding that practical cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results.

Xi said, the two countries support each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests and major concerns and cooperate closely in international and regional affairs.

The Chinese president said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Nigeria relations, expressing willingness to work with Tinubu to promote the China-Nigeria strategic partnership to a new level.
