On Saturday, a Japanese civil group held a rally to urge the government to return Chinese relics stolen by Japanese soldiers during World War II (WWII). The group emphasized that Japan must acknowledge and rectify the cultural aggression crimes committed during the Japanese war of aggression against China, including the looting of cultural relics. The group aims to promote the return of Chinese cultural properties, and since its establishment a year ago, it has gained more attention and support from the Japanese public. The civil group will continue to work towards the return of looted Chinese cultural relics, promoting historical reconciliation between Japan and China and further developing bilateral relations. At the rally, a representative of a research association of East Asian history and cultural assets stressed that it is crucial for Japan to face its history and seriously consider the issue of returning looted cultural relics, as other countries around the world have done.
