Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were left speechless as they witnessed thousands of Wrexham fans turn the Racecourse Ground into Wales’ biggest after-party on Saturday. Reynolds and McElhenney, who respectively starred in “Deadpool” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” acquired the struggling club in November 2020. Wrexham returned to the English Football League as fifth-tier champions after winning 3-1 against Boreham Wood on a dramatic night. The A-list owners hugged players and wiped away tears of joy as fans invaded the field and lit red flares. Reynolds told BT Sport, which broadcasted the match live, that he was still processing what happened and that this was why they chose Wrexham. McElhenney also expressed his joy, saying that being welcomed into the community had been the honor of his life. The win marked Wrexham’s return to League Two after being relegated in 2008, and they did so as champions with a game to spare. Notts County is expected to follow Wrexham into the fourth tier after the playoffs. Reynolds said that they deserved to go up, and both he and McElhenney were rooting for them to face Wrexham next year.
