The European Parliament has agreed to push through the draft of the AI Act, which will regulate the use of artificial intelligence tools, including generative AI such as Chat GPT. Under the proposals, AI tools will be classified according to their perceived risk level, and high-risk tools will require high level of transparency in their operations. Companies using generative AI tools will have to disclose any copyrighted material used to develop their systems. The AI Act is expected to become the world’s first comprehensive laws governing the use of AI technology.
